About Jason

Jason was born and raised in rural Wisconsin. While serving in the United States Marine Reserves, Jason joined the IBEW where he started as an Operator/URD Installer. From there he moved up to a Groundman, Apprentice, Journeyman Lineman, Lineman in Charge to Foreman while working in the electrical industry for construction, municipalities, cooperatives, and investor owned for the past 24+ years.

Jason has served as an assistant vice union steward in labor and contract negotiations meetings; He has served on committees for hiring apprentices, safety, problem-solving, and building out work trucks and tools. Jason has also served as an instructor at linemen schools. He has also attended many advanced line training courses across the country. This has allowed him to learn many aspects of the trade and experience different environments and work relations. Because of his diverse background, it’s given him insight into what makes good utilities and good linemen.

Jason believes that finding the right balance between your budget, your utility’s goals and your linemen’s needs is the key to success.

Our Mission & Approach

Helping utilities and linemen learn from the past to build a better future.

Many utilities are finding it increasingly difficult to find and retain quality linemen in a competitive industry. In my 24+ years in the industry, I’ve experienced both sides of the spectrum. I’ve seen that a one-size-fits all mentality is not the solution…

Utilities and Linemen need custom solutions for each of their unique needs, desires, and values. By assessing your utilities needs, abilities and constraints, I will provide a plan of action that can work with what your utility has and build a plan that fits your budget and needs.

Together, we can help your utility find the right candidates who fit your needs, desires, and values, while looking for areas in your training or processes that can improve and challenge your linemen to keep them confident in their job.

We will assess your tools, equipment, and operating systems, to see if there are better ways to utilize them or if there are better products out there to suit your utilities and linemen’s needs.

By working with your utility’s needs, desires & values, we can work on a plan together that will benefit the future of your utility, your customers, and the future of your linemen. –Jason Schraufnagel
